Many of our competitors' boiler designs are based on 1960’s technology. Our WNS series boilers offer innovative design, maximising efficiency. These boilers incorporate a large, fully corrugated furnace, providing excellent expansion flexibility, increased surface area and strength. A large water cooled reversal chamber allows for three pass wet back design, providing highly efficient operation. The WNS boiler design incorporates features that reduce the effects of thermal cycling and manufacturing processes to ensure this high quality product stands the test of time. These features apply across the entire range of this product, regardless of size.
Quality manufacturing process:
The WNS range of boilers are designed and manufactured to an accepted standard in New Zealand (BS EN 12953) under an ISO9000 quality management system. In addition, third party inspection, by a Department of Labour approved body, is also carried out to independently verify quality during the manufacturing process.
Energy Plant Solutions’ WNS series Steam and Hot Water boilers provide gross efficiency of 84% - 87% to minimise your fuel consumption. A large combustion space with increased surface area provides superior energy transfer from the combustion gas into the water. The fire tubes have a scroll rolled into the outer of the tube, adding surface area to increase heat transfer and enabling steam bubble formation to migrate around the tube to the surface of the water and into the steam space. These scrolled fire tubes also promote combustion gas turbulence within the tube, further increasing efficiency.
The superior triple layer insulation system on the WNS series boilers comprises a ceramic fibre layer attached to the shell of the boiler and covered by a thick silver reflective blanket to reflect lost heat back inward, encompassed by a thick layer of fibre glass insulation and then clad in an outer layer of stainless steel. In addition, both the second and third pass combustion gas reversal chambers are internally lined with refractory and insulation, a unique feature to this boiler range. This insulation provides extensive heat retention in the flue gas and reduces radiant and conductive losses to atmosphere, achieving optimal flue gas efficiency and exterior boiler surface temperatures of below 50°C.
High steam quality:
Each model of boiler is designed to incorporate a large steam space and steam scrubber, providing high quality steam even under varying loads. This high quality steam eliminates unnecessary condensate in the steam, ensuring superior heat exchange in the process equipment, reducing overall fuel consumption and scaling.
Detachable doors on the front and rear combustion gas reversal chambers and furnace access manway, together with standard water side man door and hand holes, allow for easy inspection, cleaning and maintenance.
Optimal boiler efficiency provides superior boiler performance over our competitors' products, reducing the amount of fuel required to achieve the same boiler output. Flue gas exhaust temperatures are as much as 75°C lower than our competitor’s products. This reduces the impact on the environment and the overall ongoing operational costs associated with the boiler. Flue gas economisers and condenser options are available to further enhance the performance of our package boilers, reducing fuel consumption, operating costs and CO2 emissions even more.
High quality ancillaries:
EPS use high quality European equipment on our package boilers. These include Spirax Sarco valving and control equipment, Oilon burners, complete with Siemens’ LMV control system and multistage feedwater pumps. The quality of this equipment ensures superior control and ongoing reliability.
Advanced Unattended control system:
Our market leading package boiler control system is modeled around the Siemens’ LMV combustion control system and our PLC, providing accurate and repeatable burner control and excellent overall boiler control. Spirax Sarco equipment is utilised for low water level protection and TDS blow down control. Our Oilon burner range provides high combustion efficiency operating at low excess air levels. In addition, EPS can offer variable speed combustion fan control and automated oxygen trim to further optimise electricity and fuel savings for the life of the boiler. Our control system comprises a 10” colour touch screen operator interface with PLC control, animated to indicate current boiler control status, boiler fault descriptions, trending and testing functions. A cellular modem provides the ability to contact responsible persons assigned to the boiler via cell phone or pager, with a description of the actual fault should it occur.

Boiler training is provided to ensure those responsible for the ongoing supervision of the boiler are trained to protect your investment and ensure it is operated safely and efficiently.
